The Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) expresses its deepest anguish, outrage, and unequivocal condemnation of the heinous and cold-blooded murder of six innocent Naga individuals in Manipur. The recovery of their mutilated mortal remains has confirmed the worst fears of the Naga people and exposed a horrific, barbaric, and utterly inhuman crime that has shocked the conscience of all humanity. The manner in which these innocent lives were taken reflects a level of cruelty that is beyond comprehension and stands as one of the most gruesome and satanic acts witnessed in recent times. This brutal crime is not only an attack on the victims and their families but a direct assault on the dignity, security, and collective existence of the Naga people.

Reports indicate that the victims were abducted by armed Kuki elements before being mercilessly tortured and killed. The condition in which their mortal remains were recovered establishes beyond doubt the savage nature of this atrocity. Such acts have no place in any civilized society and constitute a grave crime against humanity, a blatant violation of human rights, and a direct affront to the values of justice, peace, and human dignity. The NTHCC views this horrific incident with the utmost seriousness and condemns it in the strongest possible terms.

The deliberate taking of innocent lives through such senseless violence is unacceptable under any circumstance and deserves the strongest possible condemnation from all right-thinking people and organizations. Those responsible for this dastardly act have demonstrated utter disregard for human life, peace, justice, and the rule of law.

The NTHCC also places on record its appreciation to the United Naga Council (UNC) for its timely and commendable humanitarian intervention in facilitating the safe release of the fourteen Kuki hostages. The Committee acknowledges the efforts of the UNC and all those who worked tirelessly under difficult circumstances to secure their freedom and prevent further loss of innocent lives. Such actions reflect the enduring values of humanity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence that must prevail even amidst conflict and tension. While the release of the hostages has brought immense relief to their families, it does not diminish the gravity of the heinous murder of the six innocent Naga victims. The NTHCC reiterates that the perpetrators of these barbaric killings must be brought to justice without delay and that all necessary measures must be taken to ensure the safety and security of innocent civilians across the region.

At a time when communities across the region are yearning for peace, reconciliation, and coexistence, such acts of brutality only deepen mistrust, sow hatred, and threaten the fragile social fabric of our land. The killing of innocent civilians can never be justified by any political, ethnic, territorial, or ideological consideration.

The NTHCC demands that the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and all concerned law enforcement agencies act with utmost urgency to ensure that every individual involved in this crime, including the perpetrators, conspirators, and those who aided or abetted the abduction and subsequent killings, is identified, arrested, prosecuted, and punished in accordance with the law. Failure to ensure swift justice will only embolden further acts of violence and undermine public confidence in the ability of the State to protect innocent citizens.

The NTHCC further calls upon all responsible organizations, civil society groups, tribal bodies, and human rights institutions to unequivocally condemn this barbarity and stand in solidarity with the bereaved families. Silence in the face of such atrocities serves only to encourage lawlessness, impunity, and the normalization of violence against innocent people.

The NTHCC extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims during this time of immense grief and loss. We mourn with them and share their pain. We pray that the departed souls rest in eternal peace and that their families find strength and comfort in this difficult hour.

The Naga people have endured immense suffering throughout history, yet they have consistently upheld the values of justice, peace, and human dignity. The NTHCC reiterates that no community should be subjected to fear, violence, abduction, or persecution within its own homeland. We stand united in demanding justice for the victims, accountability for those responsible, and lasting measures to ensure that such barbaric acts are never repeated.

Justice delayed is justice denied. The blood of innocent civilians cries out for justice, and justice must prevail without fear or favour” states the statement signed by Thejao Vehienuo, President, Angami Public Organization & Convenor, NTHCC and Dr. Vihuto Asumi, President, Sümi Hoho & Secretary, NTHCC.
