The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) has warned Kuki individuals from Nagaland from commenting on issues concerning the Manipur crisis. Whatever conflicts in Manipur between different communities in Manipur should be left to the Manipur people to sort out. Kuki students, public, and media personnel are sternly warned to desist from any kind of comment, debate or publication concerning Manipur conflict.

The press statement issued by KSON stated that “in light of the press statement issued in the name of the Zeliangrong Baudi (N) the Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland would like to clarify that, Mr. Tony Singsit, son of Shri L. Singsit, IPS (Retd.), is not the President of Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON). He has never been associated with the students’ body as an Office Bearer, although he may be regarded as a member by virtue of being from Nagaland since he hails from Saijang Village under Peren District. Therefore, portraying him as the President of KSON is entirely incorrect and misleading.

“KSON requests all concerned to verify facts properly before issuing public statements so as to avoid misleading the public and creating unnecessary misunderstandings.”

The Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) has also warned Kuki individuals from Nagaland from commenting on issues concerning Manipur. “The Kukis of Nagaland have historically been part of the Naga movement. Whatever conflicts in Manipur between different communities in Manipur is best left to the Manipur people to sort out. Therefore, Kuki students, public, and media personnel are hereby sternly warned to desist from any kind of comment, debate or publication concerning Manipur. The KSON will not be responsible for any problem arising from any community members desist from this directive.”

“The statement is issued in the interest of public peace, harmony, and communal understanding* added the press release signed by Thangkhanmang, President KSON and Paojamang, General Secretary KSON.
