Pursuant to the resolution adopted in the Emergency Presidential Council Meeting held on 2nd September, 2026 at Ukhrul, the ongoing inter-district economic blockade will be intensified indefinitely on all National Highways, including NH-202 (Jessami), NH-37 (Jiribam), NH-102A (Tadubi-Ukhrul), in addition to NH-2, with effect from 1:00AM of 9th September, 2026.

The press release issued by H. James Hau, Information and Publicity Secretary, United Naga Council (UNC) stated that “all goods-laden vehicles will not be allowed to ply. However, vehicles carrying essential emergency services such as medical supplies, media, power, telecom and water supply shall be exempted.

“The economic blockade is a collective expression of our grievances and a call for justice, and accountability to the six Nagas who were brutally killed, mutilated and dismembered on May 13, 2026.”

United Naga Council further seeks cooperation from the general public until justice is delivered.
