The Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students’ Union) expresses its deep dismay and serious concern over the continued unavailability of adequate teaching staff at Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School. Despite repeated appeals to the concerned authorities, no tangible action has been taken to resolve this issue.
The press release of Anal Naga Students’ Union stated that “the aforementioned institution serves as a vital educational hub for students not only from the Anal community but also from neighbouring communities, including the Meiteis and Kukis. At present, Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School caters to 63 students, managed by a mere five teaching staff. In an era where most parents prefer private institutions, an enrolment of 63 students in a government higher secondary school is a clear testament to the trust and confidence the public holds in Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School. On the contrary, the government’s negligence towards the institution is deeply regrettable and jeopardizes the academic future of the students.
“It may be recalled that on 27 August 2026, the Anal Naga Students’ Union met with the District competent authority to find a way forward to this issue. Following the meeting, the DC Chandel directed ADM Chandel to write to the SDO Chakpikarong (In-charge) to conduct a field inspection and submit a detailed report regarding Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School. However, to this day, the SDO Chakpikarong (In-charge) seems to have failed to conduct the required field inspection and no copy of the report has been shared with the Union. Consequently, due to inaction of the concerned authority, necessary interventions have been stalled causing deliberate delays in resolving the pressing issue.
“In light of this persistent inaction, the Anal Naga Students’ Union is compelled to raise these serious questions regarding the intentions behind the delay:
1. Whether the ADM Chandel, had neglected the directive of DC Chandel and failed to formally write to SDO Chakpikarong (In-charge)?
2. Or the SDO Chakpikarong (In-charge), willfully ignored the formal letter issued under the directive of DC Chandel?
“The situation unfolds due to the reason best known to concerns, having portrayed District Administration as nothing less than Kakistocracy type, tarnishing the image of the whole dedicated bureaucrats posted in Chandel. Therefore, the Anal Naga Students’ Union urges the concerns to stop with their usual hanky-panky and to know that they are not clowns sent to perform in the circus but as a responsible officer to serve the people. Thereby, it is high time that the grievances concerning Chakpikarong Higher Secondary School are addressed and a solution be ensured at the earliest in the larger interest of the students” added the press release issued by WL Jonah Ningtung, General Secretary, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi, GHQs.
