Thousands attended the condolence service of Late Horshokmi Jamang held at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground on Saturday.

Standing together in silence and solidarity, people from different walks of life paid honour and tributes to Horshokmi Jamang, a true son of the soil, whose sacrifice will forever echo in the hearts of his people.

The Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (Tangkhul Youth Council) expresses its profound grief and unwavering solidarity on the tragic and brutal killing of Late Horshokmi Jamang of Chatric Village, age 29, son of Lungshim Jamang of Chatric Khullen village.

The condolence message of TMNL reads “this dastardly and premeditated act was perpetrated by Kuki militants operating under the guise of Suspension of Operations (SoO) and allied elements. This heinous atrocity constitutes a flagrant violation of human dignity, a gross subversion of the rule of law, and a direct affront to the collective conscience of civilised society.

“Late Horshokmi Jamang, a young man in the prime of his life, embodied hope, responsibility, and the aspirations of his community. His brutal elimination is not merely an individual loss but a grievous assault on the social fabric.

“This barbaric and reprehensible act of violence stands as a grave affront to humanity, justice, and the fragile peace in our land. Such acts of terror underscore a disturbing pattern of impunity that cannot and must not be normalised.

“Late Horshokmi Jamang will be remembered as a man of valor, duty, and unwavering commitment to our Naga brethren. His sacrifice is not only a profound loss to his family and Chatric Village but a deep wound inflicted upon the entire Naga community.

“In this moment of anguish, the Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (Tangkhul Youth Council) stands in resolute solidarity with the bereaved family and the entire populace of Chatric village in this hour of immeasurable loss. We extend our deepest condolences and invoke divine grace to grant fortitude and solace to the grieving family” stated the statement signed by Ringphapam Kasar, President i/c of TMNL.
