The major security operation conducted at Konsakhul (Konsaram) a Liangmai Naga village, on the 17th of June 2026 was an atrocious and highly condemnable act committed by the State government in the backdrop of six (6) slain villagers whose dismembered bodies were found nearly a month after their abduction by the Kuki National Front- Presidential (KNF-P) at Leilon Vaiphei village.
On the 13th of May 2026, as many as 18 Liangmai Naga civilians including women and children from Konsakhul village were waylaid at Leilon Vaiphei-a Kuki village and abducted by armed cadres of KNF-P in connivance with Leilon Vaphei chief, members of village authorities and women-folks. However, 12 women hostages along with two Salesian priests abducted from Sapermania on the same day were released in exchange of 14 Kukis detained at Senapati. The remaining six (6) Liangmai Nagas including Church leaders and workers were inhumanly murdered and their mutilated bodies were found near Leilon Vaiphei village and handed over to the State authorities on the 10th of June 2026.
Konsakhul is a victim village, which is still weeping for their loss and awaiting the mortal remains of their beloved villagers to be accorded customary burial rites. The villagers are also under repeated violent armed attacks from the Kuki militants under SoO pact and Kuki narco-terrorist groups. However, instead of delivering justice to the heinous crime, the security operation against the grieving villagers was a complete insult and rubbing salt to the wounds. The action on Wednesday was totally uncalled for and the most disgraceful action devoid of any humanity on the part of the Indian security forces, State and Central government.
In the given circumstances, the intention of the government is highly questionable. The culprits of abduction and subsequent barbaric murder are still at large. But, the authorities are very prompt with their biased and hastened decision to use force against the agonized villagers. The government’s approach is considered as a move to suppress the truth and disinclination to find an objective solution to the prevailing crisis.
The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) demands the authorities to look for tangible solution to the standoff arsing from the barbaric murder of six (6) slain Konsakhul Naga. villagers. The main culprits and their accomplices must be arrested, booked and tried in the court of law at the earliest, and awarded a befitting penalty for a crime against humanity.
