A team of Police travelling on their Yodha vehicle was attacked by suspected militants near TM. Kasom, Ukhrul District, Manipur on 24 April 2026 at around.
Police informed that on 24/04/2026, between 5:50 pm and 6:00 pm, Ukhrul District police team led by Inspector Chuingam Ningshen, OC Chingai-Police Station, while proceeding towards Ukhrul, came under fire from the Mongkot Chepu hillside by unknown miscreants using automatic rifles.
During the incident, 2 (two) bullets hit the vehicle -1 (one) bullet struck the right rear side window and shattered the glass, while another struck the lower portion of the right front door of the vehicle. The police team had a narrow escape and fortunately, there was no any casualty.
The ambush takes place in the same area where civilians were ambushed between Leingangching and TM Kasom on 18 April 2026.
