The Katho Katamnao Long (KKL) on Monday imposed an indefinite suspension of vehicular movement on all roads and highways passing through Katho jurisdiction.
The suspension of the vehicular movement was called by KKL because of the brutal physical assault on its President and 22 Tangkhul Naga Women who received grevious injury because of the excessive use of force by the personnel of the Assam Rifles at Finch Corner and Shokvao on 7 June 2026.
All shops remain shut and there was total restriction on the vehicular movement along National Highway 202 and other roads within the jurisdiction of Katho. Office goers, school going children and others could be seen attending work on foot.
The indefinite suspension of vehicular movement along National Highway 202 and all roads passing within the jurisdiction of Katho area will continue until the Assam Rifles:
1. Issues an official public apology for the conduct of its personnel;
2. Withdraws the illegal temporary outpost established at New Heaven; and
3. Initiates strict and exemplary disciplinary action against all personnel involved in 7 June 2026 assault and acts of intimidation.
