The Kuki CSO Working Committee Ukhrul on Thursday issued a preventive notice regarding the proposed visit of the Chief Minister of Manipur at Ukhrul Headquarters on 17 April 2026.

The statement stated “we request the Kuki populace to refrain from any illegal activities that may disrupt law and order during the upcoming visit of the Chief Minister of Manipur on 17 April 2026.

“We reiterate that we neither endorse nor oppose this visit. However, this notice serves to clarify that the Kuki community, including all its groups-armed and unarmed-will bear no responsibility for any untoward incidents arising from misattribution, impersonation, or deliberate attempts to portray the community in a negative light.

“Any such actions aimed at maligning the Kuki populace during this complete visit will be taken seriously and will invite appropriate consequences” stated the statement issued by the Department of Security & Defence, WCKCSOs-Ukhrul.
