The District Administration of Ukhrul in collaboration with ZEO/DPO Samagra Shiksha, Ukhrul organised a “One-Day Awareness Workshop on APAAR ID & Aadhaar Updation Of All The Schools Under Ukhrul District” at TTA Hall, Ukhrul on Tuesday.
Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) is a unique 12-digit digital identification number issued to students in India under the “One Nation, One Student ID” initiative tied to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Uppuluri Chaitanya (IAS) expressed gratitude to all the participants and for sharing their experiences. He also appealed the gathering to extend their fullest cooperation so that it can reach the maximum students and youths of the district.
ZEO of Ukhrul, Sunita Jajo in her opening remarks expressed immense pleasure and welcomed the participants. Sunita Jajo stated that “”today’s workshop has been organized with a clear objective – to ensure that every school understands the importance of APAAR ID and Aadhaar updation drive, and is equipped with the knowledge to carry out these activities efficiently and accurately.”
She further continued that “the APAAR ID is an important initiative under the National Education Policy 2020. It provides every student with a unique academic identity, enabling seamless tracking of their educational journey and facilitating better planning and delivery of educational services. Similarly, Aadhaar enrolment and updation are essential to ensure that every eligible child has a valid Aadhaar number, which is increasingly required for accessing various educational schemes and government services. Timely enrolment and updation will also help us maintain accurate student records and improve the implementation of different educational programmes.”
She requested all the Principals/Headmasters and Headmistresses to take this initiative seriously. “After today’s workshop, I expect every school to prepare a clear action plan, coordinate closely with the Aadhaar team, and ensure that no eligible child is left behind. The success of this initiative depends largely on your commitment and timely follow-up” she added
ZEO further instructed the Headmasters and Headmistresses to organise a Parents–Teachers Meeting (PTM) at the earliest in their respective schools. “Many parents still have doubts and misconceptions regarding APAAR ID and Aadhaar enrollment. A well-conducted PTM will provide an opportunity to explain the purpose, benefits, and importance of these initiatives, address their concerns, and obtain their cooperation. Parents are our partners in education, and their support is essential for achieving 100% APAAR ID generation and Aadhaar enrolment/updation in our district. I request every school to ensure that no child is left behind due to a lack of awareness or communication” stated Sunita Jajo.
ZEO also encourages everyone to actively participate in the technical sessions and interact with the resource persons, clarify their doubts, and make the best use of this opportunity.
ZEO Sunita Jajo thanked all the departments and officials who have collaborated to make this workshop possible. She appealed to work together with dedication and commitment to achieve 100% APAAR ID generation and Aadhaar enrolment/updation in Ukhrul District.
The programme was attended by officials from the Informatics Office, DIT, MY Bharat, Samagra Shiksha ,D.Is/A.Is of UADC, officials from the Aadhaar Team, Heads of schools and teachers.
The technical session includes: Concept and objectives of APAAR, Process of APAAR ID generation and mapping, Roles of school heads, data accuracy, Aadhaar enrolment and updation procedures, Required documents and school-level facilitation, Coordination with Schools & AADHAAR Team and followed by discussion and questions and answers hour.
