The Hungpung Village Administrative Council on 25 July 2026 lodged a complaint at Ukhrul Police Station allegedly against illegal abduction of 4 (four) civilians from Hungpung Village.
The complaint stated “it is respectfully submitted that on 25th July, 2026 at about 5:00 pm an incident occurred near the Cement factory, Hungpung Village where 4 (four) innocent male civilians were illegally abducted by Assam Rifle personnel while the civilians were attending their paddy field.”
“The following facts are submitted for your kind consideration and immediate rescue.
1. On the above mentioned date and time, without any provocation or suspicious behavior displayed from the 4 innocent civilians, they were illegally abducted by the Assam Rifles personnel.
2. The details of the 4 (four) civilians are:
a) Mr. Yuimung Khapai Shimray, 28 years S/o (Lt) Zimiksho Khapai Shimray of Hungpung Village
b) Mr. Shomi Shokchui, 38 yrs S/o Machangta Shokchui of Hungpung Village
c) Mr. Hungreithei Kasomva, 37 yrs S/o Noiba Kasomva of Hungpung Village
d) Mr. Khuirami KSV, 36 yrs S/o Naoba KSV of Hungpung Village
“In view of the above, you are requested to conduct a thorough enquiry of the matter and immediate release of the said civilians” stated the complaint.
