The National Socialist Women’s Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) is shocked and outraged by the despicable and unforgivable sexual assault committed against a minor from the Chang community by O. Watimeren Jamir and Tsuktimongba Ao.

The statement issued by the Chairperson of NSWON states that “as Nagas who have long professed Christian values, we will not tolerate predators hiding among us. Our organization and the wider Naga community stand united in protecting our children and vulnerable members from sexual violence.

“NSWON strongly condemns all crimes against women and children, and we call on the authorities to investigate promptly and to prosecute the perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law, with no special considerations for background or status.

“NSWON extends our deepest sympathy and steadfast support to the victim and her family during this painful time, and we pledge to work with community leaders, elders, and law enforcement to prevent such atrocities in the future.”
