The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) on Tuesday destroyed seized items of heroin, drugs including IMFL rum, beer and locally made andro liquor at their office compound at Ukhrul.
The destroyed items include 1 and half soap case of heroin, 350 litres of locally made andro liquor, 10 boxes of old monk rum, 18 cases of beer, 3 boxes and 4 strips of Alzolam and 10 strips of Cyclodas,
The WTR Officer informed that “the drive against illegal narcotic trade will continue and any individual indulging in such a business will be strictly dealt with.”
CAO of WTR, Samson Jajo has appealed to the populace of Wung Region to extend cooperation in their fight against illegal sales of drugs. “Strict actions have been taken against those involved in drug peddling. Still, we are seeing many people engaged in such illegal activities. The WTR will continue its endeavour against such nuisance” added Samso Jajo.
