The Tangkhul Naga Long – Working Committee has termed the arrest of Pradip and Ayingbi as a bizarre exercise and tactical faux pas on the part of the law enforcement agencies to fool the people of the State and deviate from intensifying public demand for arrest of the real culprits involved in the forceful abduction, illegal detention and brutal murders.
The press communique stated that “on the 10th of July 2026, a combined team of Manipur Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have arrested one Pradip, who hails from Meitei community and his wife Ayingbi alias Mangaih from Leilon Vaiphei village, relating to the abduction of 18 Liangmai Naga civilians on the 13th of May 2026 and subsequent murder of six (6) innocent men, whose mutilated bodies were recovered on the 10th of June 2026.
“The alleged arrest of two (2) persons is seen as a bizarre exercise and tactical faux pas on the part of the law enforcement agencies to fool the people of the State and deviate from intensifying public demand for arrest of the real culprits involved in the forceful abduction, illegal detention and brutal murders.
“Whereas, the Kuki-Zo Council had publicly admitted for the abduction and killing of the innocent Naga civilians, and the physical involvement of Leilon Vaiphei chief Lalboi Vaiphei alias Khailensang and his women-folks with the backing of armed cadres of Kuki National Front-Presidential (KNF-P) as credibly established by the survivors, has remained overlooked and ignored till date.
“The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), therefore, warns the State government and the law enforcement agencies to carefully and judiciously pursue the matters. It must remain steadfastly committed to truth, transparency and accountability to deliver justice in larger interest of the people in the State.”
