JTCM Calls For Emergency Shutdown

The Joint Tribes Council Manipur (JTCM) has strongly condemned in the strongest possible terms the unprovoked and cowardly attack launched by the CRPF CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) team in collusion with ZUF-J against the Naga Volunteer Groups (NVG) at Bitiang Village at around 6:00AM today (29th July, 2026). In response to this egregious betrayal and continued aggression, the Working Committee of JTC-Manipur has declared an immediate and emergency shutdown of all National Highways, Railway and National projects traversing in the territories of the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme communities.

The statement of the Working Committee, JTC-Manipur stated that “JTCM rises in utter outrage against the heinous abduction and brutal mutilation of six innocent Naga civilians including two Revered pastors on 13 May 2026 from Leilon Vaiphei village, a Kuki-cannibal stronghold. These defenseless men were dragged from their vehicles in broad daylight by armed Kuki refugee groups with established narco-terrorist links, an act of savagery that shocks the human conscience. Instead of bringing justice for the mutilated bodies of our six slain Naga sons, they have chosen to shield the guilty and side with the Kukis, turning a blind eye to the brutal massacre that has left our communities devastated and outraged.

“Adding insult to this unfathomable injury, we condemn in the strongest possible terms the unprovoked and cowardly attack launched by the Cobra team, in collusion with ZUF-J who has shamelessly betrayed its own Naga blood, against the Naga Volunteer Groups (NVG) at Bitiang Village earlier today at around 6:00AM today (29th July, 2026). These brave young men, who stand as the last line of defense for their people and their ancestral territory, were viciously targeted while guarding their own land against occupation and violence.

“This aggression against peace-loving Naga civilians, who have taken up arms only to protect their families and homelands in the absence of state protection, is a blatant act of state-sponsored terrorism that cannot and will not be tolerated. The Cobra team and their collaborators are attacking the very people they are sworn to protect, while the real terrorists the narcotic-peddling, men eater (Cannibal) Kuki militants who butchered our pastors roam free with impunity.

“In response to this egregious betrayal and continued aggression, the Working Committee, JTC-Manipur, has no choice but to declare an immediate and emergency shutdown of all National Highways, Railway and National projects traversing in the territories of the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme communities. While services such as Medical, School/Colleges, PHED, Electricity, Telecommunication services will be exempted from this shutdown. This will remain in full force until the Government of India takes decisive and meaningful action to arrest the killers, cease all hostile operations against our defenseless Naga Villages and peoples, and restore justice. The blood of our martyrs cries out for justice, and we will not rest until that justice is served” stated the statement issued by the Working Committee -JTCM.
