These events are being held as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh initiative, with the support of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

The short film challenge invites tribal filmmakers, aspiring creators, and storytellers from Manipur. The films must focus on the life, culture, arts, crafts, traditions, or heritage of Manipur’s tribal communities. The prizes for the short film challenge include Rs 50,000 for the first prize, Rs 30,000 for the second, and Rs 20,000 for the third, along with the Tribal Frames Trophy and certificates. Special Jury Awards will also be given.

On the other hand, the photography competition is open under three themes: tribal costumes, tribal festivals, and tribal lifestyle. Each category offers Rs 20,000 for first prize, Rs 15,000 for second, and Rs 10,000 for third, along with the Tribal Lens Trophy and certificates. Additionally, 10 outstanding entries across all categories will receive a Tribal Lens Merit Certificate and Rs 3,000 cash prize each.
