The Liangmai Naga Council Manipur, (LNC-M) has reported a fresh assault on Pipuram Makui Village by around 100 armed Kuki militants on Wednesday.

Despite repeated distress calls and desperate appeals for immediate protection, security forces have reportedly yet to reach the affected village.

The Liangmai Naga Council Manipur, (LNC-M) denounced the brutal and callous assault on Pipuram Makui Naga Village under Kangpokpi District and registers its deepest anguish, profound indignation and unequivocal condemnation over the reported brutal, calculated and reprehensible armed assault on Pipuram (Makui) by around 100 armed Kuki militants, allegedly wielding sophisticated weaponry and employing drones.

The deliberate torching of approximately 25 houses (including nepali) has wrought devastation and displacement, leaving numerous innocent families homeless, traumatised and destitute, and in desperate need of immediate humanitarian intervention.

The LNC is deeply appalled and gravely perturbed that, despite repeated distress calls and desperate appeals for immediate protection, security forces have reportedly yet to reach the affected village. Such prolonged exposure of vulnerable civilians to grave danger, despite repeated pleas for assistance, is profoundly distressing, reprehensible and wholly unacceptable.

We demands:

1. Immediate and sustained deployment of security forces to Pipuram and neighbouring naga vulnerable settlements.

2. Urgent protection, evacuation, relief and rehabilitation of affected civilians.

3. Complete reconstruction of all destroyed houses and properties.

4. A swift, time-bound investigation and prosecution of all perpetrators.

We therefore call upon the State and Central Governments to take immediate and decisive action against the perpetrators, ensure full restitution for the losses suffered, and guarantee that such grave incidents are never repeated. Atrocities against civilians cannot be treated as expendable, overlooked or met with indifference; immediate and resolute intervention is imperative to avert further tragedy.
