Committee Against Poppy Plantation Destroys Illegal Poppy Cultivation

The Committee Against Poppy Plantation (CAPP), Zalenbung Gamkai, Ukhrul District, Manipur in collaboration with Litan Police and Security Forces on Thursday destroyed poppy cultivation at the hill ranges of Shongphel, Mullam, Mollen Kamsei under Litan Police Station Ukhrul District.

In a press release issued by S Haokip, Chairman of CAPP stated that, “the Committee in collaboration with Litan Police and other Security Forces destroyed over 40 acres of poppy plantation at the Hill ranges of Shongphel, Mullam, Mollen Kamsei under Litan Police Station Ukhrul District.

“The committee will keep on destroying other hill ranges of Lamlai Chingphei, Thowai Kuki, Mongkot Chepu and Chepu Yaolen in the coming days.

“It is our humble appeal to all the denizens of Zalenbung Gamkai to Voluntarily come out and give full cooperation to the Committee” added the statement.
