Ukhrul: Destruction Of Poppy Cultivation Enters Day 4

The ongoing destruction of poppy cultivation by the combined forces of Ukhrul Police, 6th Manipur Rifles, Forest Department and 18 Assam Rifles enters its 4th day.

On Friday, a combined team led by SDPO Ukhrul, conducted poppy destruction drive at Sihai Hill Range. The team destroyed 80 acres of illegal poppy plant and burnt 10 huts during the operation.

Ukhrul Police informed that no cultivator was found during the destruction drive. As such, no arrest was made. The team seized some poppy pods for further reference and registration of an FIR case. The team will continue the drive till saturday.
