The road expansion work from Longmai-1 to Newly Noney DC Office Complex via Longmai-2 is currently in full progress.The ambitious initiative has been taken up by the Longmai-1 Village Development Committee in collaboration with the Longmai Village Authority, Peih (Customary Body) and Youth Leaders.
This voluntary road expansion work is being carried out purely for the welfare of the people of Noney District. Once completed, this road will not only benefit the people of Longmai Village but will benefit the entire people of Noney District as a whole, and will be a major part of the development of the District Headquarters.
Speaking to media persons, Poujailung Gonmei, Convenor of the Development Committee, stated that the Village Authority leaders and well-wishers have extended their full support by offering and donating JCBs, diesel and monetary assistance for the ongoing expansion work.
He further added, “We should not only look and depend on the Government for every developmental work. Let us do ourselves with our best ability, whatever we can do for our people and our land. Development should start from ourselves.”
He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the well-wishers, donors and villagers for their kind cooperation, physical and financial support towards the ongoing road expansion work.
The voluntary service of the villagers has been highly appreciated by the people of Noney District. The initiative taken by Longmai-1 Village Development Committee will remain as a model example of self-help and community-driven development.
