Chepu Yaolen Village Authority rebuts the claims of the Working Committee of TNL

The statement issued by the Chepu Yaolen Village Authority stated that ‘we categorically refute the claims by the Working Committee of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) alleging the presence or involvement of any SoO or non-SoO Kuki armed groups in Yaolen Chepu. The village has no armed group camps and remains a civilian area.

“Further, the incident site is not in Chepu Yaolen or TM Kasom, but in Litan Sareikhong, which, since the outbreak of violence, is inhabited solely by the Tangkhul population.

“While we do not oppose lawful security operations, they must be impartial, not selective. Any combing or search operations should extend across all vulnerable areas, including Tangkhul villages from TM Kasom to Thoyee and Sinakeithel, where there are concerns of militant presence.

‘Facts must prevail over speculation” added the statement issued by the Chepu Yaolen Village Authority
