The condolence service of Brigadier (Posthumous) Khannganing Khapai (MSM) Naga Army was held today at Town Hall, Ukhrul.
Hundreds of people from different walks of life paid homage to Brigadier (Posthumous) Khannganing Khapai MSM Naga Army.
Lieutenant General (Retd.) VS. Atem (VC, AEM) Deputy Ato Kilonser, GPRN stated that “there is a time for everything, a time to born and a time to die. All this is in the hands of God. The service and the contribution rendered by Khannganing Khapai will be remembered always.”
Condolence messages were delivered by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long (TNAL), Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL), Longphang, LPS Ukhrul, NSWON and CAO-WTR.
The office of the Adjutant General, General Headquarters Naga Army in their condolence message stated that “It is with profound sorrow and deepest respect that we extend our heartfelt condolences on the untimely demise of our beloved comrade, Brigadier (Posthumous) Khannganing Khapai-MSM, bearing Army No. ST-28177, the incumbent Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Cease-Fire Monitoring Office, GPRN; s/o P. Yarchung of Seikhor village under Wung Tangkhul region who passed away at around 8.45 pm on 27th September, 2025 at Zion Hospital, Dimapur following a sudden hypertensive stroke (BP).
“Brigadier (Posthumous) Khannganing Khapai-MSM enlisted in the Naga Army on 2nd January, 1997 and served the Naga Nation with unwavering dedication, courage and integrity. His steadfast commitment to duty reflected the highest ideals of military service. His selfless service till his final moment stands as a solemn testament to his dedication and devotion to the nation.
“In recognition of his invaluable service, the Naga Army, with the Longvibu stands in paying solemn tribute to the departed soul. The family in particular and the Naga Nation have lost a great son and a patriot. The precious service rendered by him for the cause of the nation shall ever remain etched in the annals of our national service, and his legacy will continue to shine as a beacon of patriotism and selflessness.
“We mourn the loss of a devoted comrade, and share the pain and grief with the bereaved family and pray that the Almighty God gives strength and solace during this time of immeasurable grief. The Naga Nation proudly salutes this great son of the soil” stated the message signed by Maj. Gen. T. Kamo (MSM), Adjutant General Naga Army.
The condolence message of the Ceasefire Monitoring Office, Diphupar, Chumoukedima stated that “it is with profound sadness that we learnt of the untimely demise of Late. Posthumous Brig. Khannganing Khapai (Akhan), a dedicated PRO Member in our office, who passed away on 27th September at Zion hospital Dimapur.”
“His invaluable contribution to enhancing Ceasefire related activities will forever be remembered. His passing has left a void that can never be filled. On behalf of our staff, colleagues and fellow revolutionaries, I extend our heartfelt condolence and prayers to the bereaved family” added the condolence message signed by Maj. Gen. H. Shadang, Convenor, CFMO.
Khannganing Khapai was born on 16 September 1971 and he passed away on 27 September 2025 at Dimapur. His mortal remains had been taken to his native village for final burial.
