TNL WC Condemns Joujangtek Killing

The Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long vehemently condemns the horrific ambush carried out by Kuki militants under Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact against the Chiru Naga civilians at Joujangtek area on the 13th of May 2026.

The statement of WC TNL reads “a man identified as Wilson Thanga, along with the driver of a Bolero vehicle and his wife, all hailing from Dollang Chiru Village were travelling to the farmhouse when the attack took place near Joujangtek, a Kuki village in Noney district. Wilson, a carpenter by profession, was killed on the spot, while the driver and his wife sustained critical injury during the barbaric attack. Unfortunately, the ambush at Joujangtek area is the second instance in a single day perpetrated by the Kuki militants resulting in the loss of four lives and four others injured altogether.

“The Kuki narco-terrorists have been launching a wilful and targeted attack on civilians travelling along the state and national highway in the hill districts of Manipur. While the free movement along the National Highway 202-A connecting Ukhrul and Kamjong to the capital Imphal has been affected for over three months now, the Kuki militants are now targeting the other key routes in the Naga dominated hill districts.

“The Working Committee of the TNL takes serious note of all these inhuman excesses being committed by the Kuki narco-terrorists in our land and against our own people. Why the State and Central government are still keeping silent on all these unlawful and highly condemnable acts being wilfully carried out periodically with no respect to law and humanity? The government will be held solely responsible in case the prevailing situation spirals into a larger conflict beyond control in near future” added the statement issued by the Media Cell, Working Committee, TNL.
