The proposed democratic procession by Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) at Litan on 21 March 2026 has been called off after careful assessment of the prevailing situation and taking note of the verbal assurance from the government.

The statement issued by TKS reads “with reference to the press statement issued on 19th March 2026 calling upon the general public to participate in the mass democratic procession on 21st March 2026 at Litan, regarding the safety and free movement of the public along NH-202, it has been decided to temporarily call off.”

TKS decision to call off the proposed procession is a measured step under the current circumstances after careful assessment of the prevailing situation and taking note of the verbal assurance from the government, regarding the safety and free movement of the public along NH-202.

“Should the Government fail to provide a firm and concrete step acceptable by the public as per the verbal assurance, the Saklong will be compelled to take their own course of action without further notice” added the statement of TKS.
