The Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) destroyed heroin, zamri and drugs on Saturday at its office compound at Ukhrul Headquarters.
The destroyed items include 28 soap cases of heroin, 12 bags of zamri (approximately 300kg) and a large quantity of drugs (Cyclotas, Alprazolam and Tramadol). The Zamri is used for making local intoxicants called “Layi”.
The above items were destroyed in the presence of media at the office compound of WTR, Ukhrul Headquarters.
CAO of WTR, Samson Jajo informed that the drive against illegal narcotic trade will continue within the jurisdiction of Wung Tangkhul Region. He appealed to the populace of Wung Region to extend cooperation in their fight against illegal sales of drugs.
Strict actions have been taken against those involved in drug peddling. Still, we are seeing many people engaged in such illegal activities. The WTR will continue its endeavour against such nuisance.
