In a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability and improve public health, Ukhrul District conducted extensive saturation and plantation drives today emphasizing community participation and awareness under the IEC campaign titled ‘Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle, 2026’.
The initiatives, led by the District Forest Officer and the Chief Medical Officer Ukhrul, aimed to foster ecological conservation and healthcare awareness among residents. The plantation drives saw the successful planting of thousands of saplings across various locations in the district, contributing to the district’s green cover enhancement.
In addition to environmental efforts, the district also organized free health camps across multiple villages, providing essential medical check-ups and health services to the local communities. These camps were managed by the Chief Medical Officer Ukhrul and offered free consultation, basic medicines, and health awareness sessions.
The IEC campaign aims to reach the remotest parts of Ukhrul, ensuring that health and environmental initiatives benefit all sections of society. District officials expressed their commitment to continue these efforts, emphasizing the importance of community involvement for sustainable development.
Residents appreciated the dual focus on health and environment, highlighting the significance of such drives in improving their quality of life and ecological balance.
The district administration plans to sustain these efforts through regular campaigns and community engagement activities, reinforcing the district’s commitment to a healthier and greener future.
“The campaign today was a notable success with the response from approximately 1217 participants across the district” stated the press release issued by DIO Ukhrul.
