Th. Muivah: We Will Stand Our Ground, Come What May

Th. Muivah, the supremo of NSCN/GPRN on Monday reiterated the stand of the Nagas during an interaction with a journalist at Gethsemane Somdal.

Ato Kilonser, Th. Muivah stated “our history along with our demand is very clear. Repeatedly, we have explained and made known to India. The Indians knew very indepthly; clear enough to know what our demand is. But they started giving ultimatum, mandate and warning. Mind that. Warning and ultimatum to force upon us. So we are forced to tell them, “come what may, we will stand our ground. We know who the Indians are and their histories.” How many times I have to rebut them. “So do you want to play your game with us totally ignoring our points?” They could not answer anything. But they still went on playing their tactics of delay. “Mr. Muivah you are the only one talking like this. But we have understood you.”

So I say, whether it is today or tomorrow or years to come, we will stand our ground. We will not come with or take our history and surrender it to you. We will never do that. Whether it is today or tomorrow or any time in the future, we will never do that. Don’t forget this. There is no uncertainty of this and that because our stand is clear.

They have understood our cause. They say you are right. But what to do. “See we have our difficulties.” That is what they say. But then, we will stand our ground, come what may.

India is India. Naga is Naga. We are two different people. Understand us and appreciate it. There is no point for us to come to you. I have clearly told them, if you try to appreciate and understand, yes, we are ready. But not beyond that.
