The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim, Provisional Government, Mt. Horeb condoled the passing of Adino Phizo, President of Naga National Council (NNC) on 8 October 2026 at Kohima.
The condolence message issued by the Media & Publicity Cell, Provisional Government, NSCN/GPRN stated that “with profound sorrow and deep sense of historical loss, we mourn the passing away of Adino Phizo, President of the Naga National Council (NNC), who passed away on 8th of October, 2026 at the age of 94 in Kohima.
“The eldest daughter of Angami Zapu Phizo, Adino Phizo devoted most of her life to upholding the Naga historical and political rights of the Naga people. She led the Naga National Council with unwavering conviction, courage and determination until her final days. Her life and leadership remained deeply intertwined with some of the most defining chapters of Naga political history.
“Having endured decades abroad and back to Nagalim in 2013, she carried the weight of leadership through changing political circumstances, steadfastly upholding her commitments to resist foreign occupation until Nagalim is recognized as free sovereign nation.
“The passing of Adino Phizo is therefore, not merely the loss of a veteran leader but also the closing of a significant chapter in Naga political history. Her legacy will be remembered as an integral part of Naga struggle to preserve Naga political identity, uphold historical rights and pursue the enduring aspiration of self determination.
“The Provisional Government, NSCN/GPRN extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and members of the Naga National Council during this time of profound grief. May Almighty grant them strength, courage and comfort, and may His grace sustain the Naga people as we mourn this irreplaceable loss.
“May Adino Phizo rest in eternal peace, May her memory remain an enduring part of Naga history. With deep sympathy and solemn tribute” added the statement issued by the Media & Publicity Cell, Provisional Government, NSCN/GPRN.
