The Kamjong District administration commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas today at DC Kamjong Camp Office, 2nd MR Complex.
ADC/ADM of Kamjong, H.L Jain (MCS) and various department heads attended the event to celebrate the victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War.
ADC/ADM H.L Jain while observing the significance of this day, asserted that Indian armed forces defeated and forced the Pakistani intruders to withdraw to their side of LOC inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. ‘It marks the glorious victory of 1999, Kargil War, when our soldiers, braving snow-clad peaks and reclaimed the height of Kargil with unmatched courage and unwavering resolveโ, he said. He also emphasised that this anniversary is not just an occasion on the calendar but is a stirring reminder to salute our soldiers who made supreme sacrifices to defend our nation, territorial integrity and its people.
It may be noted that Kargil Vijay Diwas (Kargil Victory Day) is commemorated on this day every year in India to observe Indiaโs victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War and to celebrate in honour of the soldiers who fought the Kargil War in 1999.
