Something different always happens at Edu Fest. Something so exciting and new, that leaves the participants young souls and minds to carry them along with it in the days to come like a great tide, something that lets their mind blaze and burn for more knowledge and motivation.

The District Administration of Ukhrul and North East Foundation for Education and Culture (NEFEC), is all set to conduct the 8th edition of Edu Fest 2025 at Jubilee Hall, UBC at Ukhrul Headquarters from 29 – 31 October 2025.

Chairman of the Organising Committee of Edu Fest 2025, Asish Das (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul stated that “We are gearing up for the 8th edition of the Education Festival 2025. It usually used to be a state level inter-school championship, this time we are expecting participation of school from outside the state. So this year’s edition will become a regional educational festival.”

Asish Das further added “in addition to the normal activities that were usually taken up in the previous edition, this time we are adding new activities with proper meaning. Students have an idea of how they want to see their place in the future. They have a dream, a vision and that idea they put up will be selected and implemented depending on the feasibility. For example their ideas on waste management, traffic regulations, law and order, drug abuse, pollution, water scarcity etc., enormous issues are there. They can write their concerns and come up with solutions which are practicable and we will choose some of the ideas from the students and implement them at the district level and we will give the credit in the name of the students.”

The Education Festival 2025 will feature a wide range of competitions and programs tailored to accommodate varied interests, talents and categories:

Academic Events:

Quiz

Creative Writing (2 Category)

Spelling Bee

“My Dream”: Robotic Engineering

Extempore Speech

Painting (3 Categories)

Cultural Events:

Acapella (Singing)

Choreography

Sports Events:

Mini Marathon ( Boys & Girls)

Secretary of the Organising Committee, AC Tamyo, highlighted the vision and objectives of the Edu Fest. He stated that “the Education Festival is a flagship state-level initiative, designed to celebrate the spirit of learning and to reimagine the future of education through the lenses of innovation, inclusion, and inspiration. The festival aspires to provide a myriad of opportunities for students; a platform to demonstrate their talent and creativity, a stepping-stone to achieve greater things in life apart from promoting a fair competitive environment amongst the students of the state. For many students, it is difficult for them to express their talents or creativity in schools. Exams and assignments do not always capture students’ unique skills or accurately measure the ability to apply skills to real world problems. This Festival is based on solving real cases and problems, letting the students to participate in deciding and creating their future. By participating in this competition, students will have new opportunities to show their creativity and apply their skills to the fullest. The rewards of the competitions, whether tangible or otherwise, can help students achieve their educational and professional goals. Not everyone who enters the competition will win. However, even if they don’t receive any of the prizes, they can still benefit from the opportunity to challenge themselves. They will learn new things and develop new skills to explore their boundaries and expand their horizons.

“The festival seeks to bring under one roof a diverse group of stakeholders including students from schools and colleges, educators, parents, community leaders, policymakers, NGOs, education entrepreneurs, academic researchers, and cultural practitioners. By doing so, it fosters a space of collaborative dialogue and exchange, encouraging cross-sector learning and collective visioning for the future of education in the state. The Education Festival is not just a ceremonial event—it is a strategic and participatory intervention aimed at transforming the education landscape of Manipur. Given the evolving challenges and opportunities in education, such a platform plays a crucial role in bridging divides, fostering innovation, and building an inclusive and forward-thinking ecosystem.”

The press conference was attended by David Kashungnao (MCS) CEO of ADC-Ukhrul, Ringthing Hongchui (MPS), Additional SP of Ukhrul, Dinringam Kamei (MCS), SDO of Ukhrul, Themreishang Marei, Chief Engineer PHED Ukhrul, Ringshan Shaiza, PO RTE-Ukhrul, Sunita Jajo MES-ZEO Ukhrul and Siyo Kaping, RO Ukhrul Forest Division and others.

The prescribed registration forms and detailed guidelines can be obtained from the NEFEC Resource Centre, Kamphasom (Near SP Quarter), Ukhrul during office hours. For further inquiries, please contact: 9612386769 / 8415053040.
