Durand Cup Prize Money Tripled

India’s oldest and most prestigious football tournament, the Durand Cup, is set to become even grander in 2025.

The Durand Cup Organising Committee has announced a massive 250% increase in prize money — now a whopping ₹3 Crore. The three individual award winners will each drive home in a brand-new SUV.

This was announced by Lt Gen Mohit Malhotra, Chairman DCOC, sharing the exciting update at the Press Briefing in Vijay Durg, Kolkata.

The prize pool for upcoming 134th edition of Durand Cup 2025 has jumped triple and with more exciting individual prizes.

24 teams to be played across 5 states for the coveted trophy. Imphal, Manipur will host 6 matches. The tournament will kickstart on 23 July and the grand finale will be played at Kolkata on 23 August 2025.

Champions to receive ₹1.5 Crore+ and Runners-Up will also receive substantial increase from previous years. Semifinalists will also be rewarded. Individual Awards for best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper will be awarded with brand new SUV.

The Durand Cup 2025 will not just be about glory but it will surely motivates young talent and strengthens India’s domestic football.
