Department of Science & Technology Organises Making Of Plastic Bags At Talui

The entrepreneurship development programme on the making of plastic bags etc was successfully conducted at Talui village, Ukhrul District, Manipur. Organised and sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Manipur.

The programme was attended by Kengoo Zuringla (IAS), Secretary (Science & Technology), Government of Manipur, as the Chief Guest and other guests included K. Yarreingam Rangry, Scientific Officer, Department of Science & Technology and M Philawon, Chairperson Women Society, Talui Village.

A total of 40 women participants successfully completed the programme. During the training, the participants gained hands-on experience in plastic bag manufacturing along with essential knowledge on small-scale business management. The programme aimed to empower women by equipping them with practical skills to establish sustainable livelihood opportunities and supplement their household income. Certificates were distributed to the participants by the chief guest.

The initiative reflects the Department of Science & Technology’s continued commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment at the grassroots level.
