The Caretaker CAO of Saramati Region, C. Süchu Jacob has appealed to the Tikhir and Yimkhiung communities to maintain peace, harmony and mutual respect in the wake of the unforeseen incident and restraint from any actions that may escalate the situation.
The statement issued by Caretaker CAO of Saramati Region stated that “I sincerely appeal to the Tikhir and Yimkhiung communities to maintain peace, harmony, and mutual respect in the wake of the recent unfortunate and unforeseen incident. I urge everyone to exercise restraint and refrain from any actions that may escalate the situation.”
“Both communities share a common history, deep-rooted cultural and social ties, and a long standing spirit of brotherhood. Regardless of our differences or misunderstandings, these bonds are far more valuable than any disagreement. While the past cannot be undone, we can collectively choose the path of peace, understanding, and reconciliation.
“I earnestly appeal to the tribal bodies, community leaders, youth organizations, civil society groups, and concerned citizens of both communities to promote dialogue, discourage rumours and provocation, and work towards an amicable and peaceful resolution. The safety and well-being of our people must remain our foremost priority.
“Let us ensure that this unfortunate incident does not weaken the relationship, unity, and integrity that bind our communities together. Differences must be resolved through mutual understanding and constructive dialogue, not through confrontation or violence.
“Let us move forward with wisdom, preserve our brotherhood, uphold mutual respect, and build a future founded on peace, dignity, and harmony.
“May peace prevail, may brotherhood endure, and may the relationship between our Tikhir and Yimkhiung brothers and sisters grow stronger for generations to come” added the statement issued by C. Süchu Jacob, Caretaker CAO, Saramati Region.
