WHEN THE WORLD TEACHES DREAMS TO DIE
The world is huge, it needs a dream,
A thousand hearts, a thousand beams.
Young minds are waiting to rise and shine,
With hopes as bright as morning light.
But why must dreams be lost in fear,
When a better future could be near?
In streets where conflict fills the air,
Young dreams disappear somewhere.
Violence turns their hopes to pain,
And leaves their brightest paths in vain.
A student who dreamed of reaching the sky
May lose the chance to even try.
Why does corruption still remain,
While honest dreams are filled with pain?
Why do leaders play with tomorrow,
Leaving young hearts to live in sorrow?
The future is not a game to play,
It is built by what we do today.
Behind every student stands a dream,
A hidden light, a hopeful stream.
They do not ask for gold or fame,
They only want a fairer game.
Give them books, give them peace,
Give them a world where dreams increase.
We are not fools, we are not blind,
We know the truth, we read between the lines.
We are not voiceless, we are not weak,
We have the courage to stand and speak.
Don’t tell us stories of the past,
Don’t imprison us in memories that last.
We are the children of today,
Let us dream, let us find our way.
Our future is ours to build and see,
Let us become who we are meant to be.
Your ego, your agenda, your unfinished fight,
Must not steal our dreams or silence our light.
We are not your pawns, nor your game to play,
Our future belongs to us, not yesterday.
Let no young heart be forced to choose
Between its education and the news
Of violence, hatred, war and fear.
Let every child feel hope is near.
Let leaders hear the voices of youth,
And build their future with justice and truth.
We have seen the darkness, we know its cost,
We have felt the pain of dreams once lost.
Yet still we rise, still we believe,
There is a better world we can achieve.
We will not inherit a world of fear,
We will build a future where hope is near.
Our dreams are not ashes, our voices are strong,
We have waited for justice for far too long.
So let the old wounds finally heal,
Let tomorrow be something we can feel.
Let books replace the sounds of war,
Let every child know what hope is for.
The world may teach our dreams to die,
But we will teach our dreams to fly.
