Two Naga Civilians Killed By Armed Kuki Militants Near Indo – Myanmar Border Pillar No. 102

Two civilians from Ningchou Village, Kamjong District Manipur were killed by suspected Kuki Armed Militants near Indo-Myanmar Border Pillar No. 102 on Saturday at around 9:30AM.

The two deceased have been identified as Leishisan Leishadang (48 years) Village Secretary and Ngachanso Ningshen (35 years) of Ningchou Village.

Speaking to this correspondence, N. Chuirei, Headman of Ningchou informed that the armed Kuki militants ambushed the villagers along the Indo-Myanmar Border Pillar No. 102 at around 9:30AM. The ambush killed two villagers of Ningchou. The situation was put under control with the timely intervention by the 11 Assam Rifles stationed at Nambisha Village. The continuous and fierce firing by the armed Kuki militants from the border side stopped, when the Assam Rifles personnel retaliated against the armed Kuki militants.”

Sources informed that the armed Kuki militants after killing two Nagas civilians retreated to their base at Myanmar.

The Headman of Ningchou informed that the two deceased bodies have been brought to Kamjong Hospital for necessary postmortem.
