The Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant installed at the District Hospital Ukhrul (DHU) has remained non-functional for almost a year due to major defects and cliches at the booster and there is need for immediate repairing to cater to the needs of the patients of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
In this regard, the Tangkhul Naga Long submitted a memorandum to CM Yumnam Khemchand Singh during his visit to Ukhrul on 17 April 2026. The demands include: (i) Oxygen Plant (ii) Blood Bank (License) (iii) Filling of Specialists and Staff vacancy (No utilization of Staff) (iv) Emergency drugs with separate packages etc.
The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Ukhrul has also submitted an application addressed to the Director of Health Services Government of Manipur on 23 June 2025, requesting for necessary repairing of PSA Oxygen Plant of District Hospital Ukhrul.
PSA Oxygen Plant of District Hospital Ukhrul has been out of operation for almost a year now due to some defect in the booster of the Plant.
The hospital authorities are faced with financial burden in bringing the much needed medical oxygen from Imphal facility on almost every alternate week.
The only PSA Oxygen Plant in Ukhrul District needs immediate attention from the concerned authority.
