The Naga Women’s Union has demanded justice for the four Naga army who were killed on 28 March 2026 at Hongbei and accountability from those responsible. Naga Women’s Union has appealed to all the Naga brethren to avoid violence against one another.
The press release stated, ‘the Naga Women’s Union pays a great tribute to the fallen Soldiers – Major Sochipem Phungshok, Sergeant Major Zairay Vasah, Sergeant Bahnle Ahlapya and Sergeant Thansomi Vashi (posthumous honors) for their noblest sacrifices for the Naga national cause, on 28 March, 2026.
“We mourn with heavy hearts that have broken the families and shaken the communities. May the families of fallen heroes find strength and solace to withstand in this hard time.
“Today, we express our profound discontentment over the death of our soldiers at Hongbei village. We consider this a tragedy that has brought sorrow to thousands of mothers and sisters. They were in the prime of their service, answering the national call.
“We urge recognition of the sacrifices made by our beloved brothers and a swift resolution to this incident. We call upon those responsible to come forward with honesty and courage, for the good of individuals and the Naga as a whole.
“We demand justice for those killed and accountability from those responsible. The NWU appeals to all Naga brethren to avoid violence against one another.”
