The Working Committee of Tangkhul Naga Long on 24 February 2026 has instructed all the Tangkhul Naga villagers to immediately cut all civic and economic ties with the Kukis.
To enforce the economic ties, womenfolk stationed at various places are checking the movement within the jurisdiction of Tangkhul Naga area.
Sources informed that, on Thursday, the womenfolk while checking such movement at Shangshak intercepted a Kukis travelling in a white Bolero Camper carrying SBBL and muzzle in the vehicle he was travelling. On being enquired by the volunteers, he admitted that he was transporting the weapons to Saikul.
Owing to the present unrest and sensitivity of the situation, the volunteers stationed at the area had seized the weapons. The people travelling in the vehicle had been let go in good terms. It was reported that they were coming from Chassad and moving towards Saikul.
