Chingjaroi Ngachaphung To Host 59th Edition Of RKL Meet

In the General Assembly of Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) held at Khamasom Walely, Ukhrul District, Manipur, on Sunday during the 58th RKL General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet 2026, the Assembly unanimously approved the proposal of Chingjaroi Ngachaphung Katamnao Long to host the 59th edition of Raphei Katamnao Long General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet.

The next edition of RKL Meet is likely to be held in 2028 in the month of January. The meeting was chaired by Yurri Asaiwo, Speaker RKL along with Dearson Khansu (Deputy Speaker), Makanmi Horam (Secretary) and Zanmei Tungshangnao (Joint Secretary) in the presence of Paomi Khaveishang, President RKL and his colleagues and attended by Unit Presidents and senior members of RKL also deliberated on various issues pertaining to the growth and development of Raphei.

Since the establishment of RKL in 1949, Chingjaroi Ngachaphung will be hosting the RKL General Conference cum Sports, Cultural and Literary Meet for the first time. President of Chingjaroi Ngachaphung Katamnao Long, Sovi R Zimik expressed immense gratitude to RKL and the people of Raphei for giving the opportunity to host the RKL Meet. “It is a historic moment for the people of Chingjaroi Ngachaphung to host the General Conference of RKL for the first time” stated Sovi R Zimik.

Chingjaroi is one of the biggest villages in Raphei and consists of three sister villages, namely, Chingjaroi Khullen, Chingjaroi Ngachaphung and Chingjaroi Christian Village. Chingjaroi is popular for its eye-catching scenic beauty of tourists’ interests, including the Chingjui Mathu, Akhüro ( Tiger’s den ), waterfalls, lovers point, the beautiful terrace fields around the village and many others. Chingjaroi is situated near the National Highway 150 and is approximately 84 kilometers from Ukhrul district headquarters.
