Ukhrul Poppy Destruction Enters Day 4

โ€‹As part of the Phase 2 poppy destruction drive at Ukhrul District, the destruction of poppy cultivation enters its day 4.

The combined teams conducted operations at two different locations on Friday.

At LM Block

A total of 58 acres were destroyed and 5 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, 6MR, the Forest Department, and 18 Assam Rifles, under the command of SDPO Ukhrul.

At โ€‹Mullam & Shongphel Area:

A total of 60 acres were destroyed and 15 huts used by poppy cultivators were burnt by a combined team comprising District Police, BSF, the Forest Department, 4 Mahar Regiment, NCB and NAB, under the command of SDPO Jessami.

โ€‹FIR cases will be registered accordingly for both locations. The two teams will continue the destruction drive through Saturday.
