Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) NSCN/GPRN on Tuesday destroyed seized items of intoxicants such as drugs, beer and rum at their office compound at Ukhrul Headquarters.
The destroyed items include Cyclotas, Alzolam, Zamri, beer and rum.
In a routine check, the authority of WTR recovered 30 boxes of beer, 15 bottles of old monk rum and half a box of B7 from one peddler.
The WTR authority also recovered 13 bags of Zamri – yeast for brewing local drinks.
From another peddler, 20 boxes of beer and 29 bottles of rum were seized.
The authority also managed to seize 3 boxes of old monk and 29 boxes of Kingfisher beer from another peddler.
All the seized intoxicants were destroyed today at WTR Compund, Ukhrul. The WTR Officer informed that its endeavour against such nuisance will continue.
