The Sagolmang Area Naga Students’ Association (SANSA) vehemently condemns the appalling incident that took place on 8th September 2025, around 7:30 AM -8:00 AM at Molnom, along the Sinakeithei-Imphal route.

The condemnation statement signed by Shankhui Raikhan, President of SANSA stated that, “Armed Kuki militants reportedly intercepted a passenger bus, forcibly seized passengers’ mobile phones, and searched them to verify whether any video recordings of their militant camp or area had been taken. They further resorted to blank firing, creating panic and grave insecurity among innocent civilians.

“Such barbaric, cowardly, and unlawful acts against defenseless passengers are utterly intolerable and deserve the strongest condemnation. The lives, rights, and safety of the people must never be subjected to such intimidation and violence.

“SANSA demands that the concerned authorities immediately initiate stringent measures and bring the perpetrators to justice. It is the bounden duty of the authorities to ensure the safety of all commuters and to uphold the rule of law without compromise.

“We also make it clear that if such heinous incidents are allowed to persist unchecked, SANSA will not remain a silent spectator but will be compelled to pursue stronger courses of action in defense of the security and dignity of our people.”

The video was first uploaded by Zokhan Khual with the caption “Free Movement At Your Own Risk”. The incident has sent a shockwave among the Tangkhul community. In this regard, a meeting of Tangkhul CSOs will be held at Ukhrul Headquarters on Tuesday. Molnom falls under Litan PS and till now no Police complaint has been filed.
