Dr. Solingyur Zimik from Lungphu village of Ukhrul District, Manipur has been selected as an Assistant Professor of Physics at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
It is learnt that, in 2018, Dr. Solingyur Zimik completed his Doctorate /PhD in Physics from Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore, India’s most prestigious institution for STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics).
The first person from Manipur to earn a Ph.D /Doctorate degree in Computer Science from the same Institute (IISC, Bangalore) was Dr. Thotreingam Kasar (a fellow Tangkhul from Sharkaphung village), who earned his Post-Doctrate in Computer science from Sorbonne, France.
Dr. Solingyur Zimik also completed his first postdoctoral in Physics in 2020 from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Ohio, USA (2019-2020). He is currently pursuing a second postdoctoral program in Physics at Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMS), Chennai. Research Area: Complex Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics.
Dr. Solingyur Zimik had scored 88% in Bachelor of Science (Physics Honours) from Delhi University and has interest in Theoretical Physics and Basic Science.
