The 7th Foundation Day of Happy Home (Old Age Home)—run by the Environment and Rural Development Society (EARD), a dedicated NGO—was celebrated on 3rd December at Awontang, Kamjong, marked by dignity, cultural pride, and deep community spirit.

The program began with a blessing prayer by the church pastors, setting a tone of grace, gratitude, and reverence for the entire celebration.

The event was honoured by the presence of the Commanding Officer of 8Assam Rifles, 2IC of 8 AR, church pastors, village headmen, Raizanlong Presidents, and CSO representatives, whose participation added significance to the occasion.

Around 80 elderly residents joyfully participated. The celebration featured cultural dance performances, traditional rituals showcased by the aged community, and fun competitions and activities, creating an atmosphere of joy and meaningful intergenerational learning.

As a gesture of love and respect, gifts were distributed to the elderly participants. A special blessing prayer was also offered for the Local leaders, CSO members, Students, religious leaders and Assam Rifles officers for their continued service, guidance, and protection of the community.

Happy Home and EARD extend deep gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their constant support, humanitarian spirit, and compassionate presence throughout the event.

The celebration concluded with a generous community dinner, bringing everyone together in warmth, unity, and fellowship.
