TMNL Visits Landslide Affected Family; Extend Financial Assistance

In a spirit of solidarity and compassion, the Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long visited the landslide affected family and extended financial assistance in their time of despair. The Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL) led by President In-charge Ringphapam Kasar and General Secretary Thotchuingam P Kasar along with their Executive Council visited the landslide affected family on Friday.

On 4 August 2026, due to the incessant rain, a landslide from a massive section of a hillside collapsed on a building at Khampasom, Ukhrul. The landslide hit a building and trapped the occupants. Sources informed that, a Class IV student, Yakhari Kasar (9 years old), daughter of Chihanso Kasar and Rinchui Jamang of Khangkhui Phungdhar (Khunou) Village was found buried beneath mud, with only her head visible. Neighbours and fellow occupants dug through the debris and rescued her alive.Yakhari Kasar was immediately rushed to the District Hospital Ukhrul for treatment.

Ringphapam Kasar informed that Yakhari Kasar has been discharged from District Hospital Ukhrul and is currently staying at one of their relatives at Kahumtang, Ukhrul. The TMNL teams paid a visit today and extended financial assistance. Ringphapam Kasar informed that the Student Book House at Phungreitang, Ukhrul has donated a text book and note book for the young schoolgirl. Her school book was buried by the landslide. Ringphaoam Kasar also mentioned that the Christian Literature Centre at Phungreitang has also provided stationery and other materials for the student.

Ringphapam Kasar expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Student Book House and Christian Literature Centre for their generous act.
