Landslide Cut Off Connectivity To Sinakeithei- Sirarakhong Road

Due to the incessant rain, the vehicular movement along the Sinakeithei–Sirarakhong Road has become impossible due to multiple landslides and the complete washout of the temporary ring culvert bridge, it has become necessary to identify and utilize an alternative route.

Considering the prevailing law and order situation, the Sinakeithei–Yangpokpi Road via Mahadev is presently not open for normal civilian vehicular traffic due to security concerns. The said route may be used only under an escort service, and such an escort arrangement can be operationalized only upon the approval and orders of the competent higher authorities.

Wunganing Zimik, Secretary, Sinakeithei Village Authority informed that the Sinakeithei – Champhung Road via Tanrui remains the only feasible alternative route. However, the said road is in an extremely dilapidated condition and is riddled with deep potholes, rendering it virtually impassable for vehicular traffic. As a result, the movement of essential commodities, emergency services, and the general public has become exceedingly difficult.

“In view of the above, we most earnestly request the concerned authorities to make immediate arrangements for the repair and restoration of the Sinakeithei–Champhung Road via Tanrui so that it may be made safely motorable and serve as a temporary alternative route until the primary road connectivity is restored.”

The people of Sinakeithei Village are undergoing immense hardship, as the village has been completely cut off from the outside world. The villagers have appealed to the concerned authority for kind intervention and immediate action to restore connectivity and alleviate the suffering of the affected residents.
