The Kuki CSO Working Committee (WCKCSOs) Ukhrul, organized a sit-in protest condemning the brutal killing of Thenkhogin Baite and Thangboimang Lunkim. The protest was held at Shangkai on Saturday to express deep anguish and outrage over the tragic loss of the two innocent lives and to demand justice and accountability from the concerned authorities.

During the protest, Kuki women actively participated and voiced their strong grievances over the continued violence and insecurity faced by the community. The participants expressed sorrow and anger, calling for immediate and concrete steps to ensure the safety and protection of innocent civilians.

The Kuki CSO Working Committee reiterated its previously submitted charter of demands and urged the authorities to take swift and decisive action. The committee stressed that failure to address these demands would only deepen the pain and frustration of the affected community.

The committee further stated that if their demands are not met in a timely manner, they will be compelled to intensify their democratic agitation and carry out more protests in different forms in the coming days.

“The Kuki CSO Working Committee appealed to the government and concerned authorities to take urgent steps to deliver justice for the victims at the earliest, failing which the government of India will be held responsible for any consequences arising from the situation” stated the press release issued by the Department of Media and Information- Kuki CSO Working Committee, Ukhrul
