Ukhrul Police rescued three minor girls from Bihar, who had fled their homes. They were safely brought back to Ukhrul to reunite with their parents.

According to Inspector Marchang W, OC of Ukhrul PS, their station received a missing complaint report of three minor girls on 31 October 2025 from the parents of the minors.

At around 09:00 AM on the morning of 31 October 2025, the three minor girls left their respective homes wearing their school uniform tracksuits to attend their school. Since they did not return on time, their families tried to trace their whereabouts but in vain. Therefore, the parents of the minors had approached Ukhrul Police Station for tracing their daughters.

Accordingly, the Ukhrul Police registered GD No. 18/UKL-PS/2025 dated 31 October 2025 and alerted all their counterparts. Ukhrul Police also alerted the Biharis at Bihar who were earlier staying at Ukhrul but have gone back to settle in their native place.

According to Ukhrul Police, “the three minor girls, instead of going to school on 31 October 2025, boarded Ukhrul-Imphal bus and on 02 November 2025 boarded Bihar-bound bus from Imphal. They reached Muzaffarpur, Bihar on 4 November 2025. They were detained there at a bus stop by the Biharis who were earlier intimated by the Ukhrul Police, and they were handed over to the Police Station at Muzaffarpur.

And on 9 November 2025, they were brought back safely to Ukhrul. “The minor have left homes on their own will to find work of their choice” stated Ukhrul Police.
