On the invitation by the Government of India, the Naga delegation led by United Naga Council met Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Saturday at Raj Bhavan, Imphal.

Meeting Outcome:

Governor assured to facilitate talks between Government of India and United Naga Council.

Next Round of Meeting:

The next round of meeting likely to take place within three days.

UNC Key Two Demands:

1. Scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) should be reinstalled.

2. Construction of border fencing along the Naga homelands must stopped. If at all, the Indo-Myanmar Border is to be fenced for the reason best known to the Government of India, proper demarcation of actual border line based on historical and traditional boundary should precede to any physical construction work to avoid an irreparable ramification and unprecedented uprising of the people.

Ultimatum:

The UNC warned of launching an indefinite economic blockade along the National Highways in the Naga areas if the demands are not met
