Ukhrul Police Initiate Social Work At Ukhrul Headquarters, MLA Khashim Vashum Awards 50k

Under the initiative of Ukhrul Police and participated by the personnel of Border Security Force, 6th Manipur Rifles, ADC Team,  students from Pettigrew College NCC, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School NCC, St. Joseph College NCC, Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School NCC and Model High School NCC- a social work was carried out on Saturday at Ukhrul Headquarters.

The Senior SP of Ukhrul, Ningshem Vashum (IPS) led the cleanliness drive and was participated by all ranks and files of Ukhrul Police. “Keeping Ukhrul Town spick and span has become a big challenge, and it is the duty of every right thinking citizen of Ukhrul to contribute in keeping our town neat and clean” stated Ningshem Vashum.

The social work and cleanliness drive was carried out from the stretch of Wino Tang to Dungrei Junction – a distance of about 4km.

During the social work, the potholes on the roads were filled with gravel and sand. Waste materials and food wrappers thrown haphazardly on the roadside were collected and disposed off at the safe place. The blocked drainage was also cleared.

Tipper trucks of ADC-Ukhrul were deployed to collect the waste materials and disposed off at the disposal site maintained by ADC-Ukhrul.

In a significant gesture of generosity and appreciation of the various tasks,  particularly cleanliness and road repairing drive being undertaken in Ukhrul Town under the leadership of Ningshem Vashum (IPS) Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ukhrul, Khashim Vashum, Hon’ble MLA, 45/AC awarded a sum of Rs 50,000/- (Fifty thousand Rupees) to the Department of Ukhrul Police on 27th September, 2025.
